DEFQON.1

Since you girls dont't blog your Sydney trip, I will haha. Sydney trip for Defqon.1
Landed and got a bus to central cos the train line was getting fixed :|
The train ride 1hr to the west of Sydney was long and to say the least.... interesting. Gave us a bad first impression of Sydney. Transit police (our version of train inspectors) carry weapons and the more west we headed the more derelect it became. Went through suburbs that were like dominated by housing commissions make Footscray / St Albans / Sunshine look tame. Either way was worth the wait.
The event was half awesome and wait for it.... half epic! 11 hours of hardstyle, 5 stages surrounded by water with the best Djs and a 10,000+ crowd. Can't ask for much more. Here are pics from Harvs digi cam cos I cbf lugging my DSLR lol.

Pics don't do it justice. Main stage was about 35m high, and made of scrap - Defqon's theme.

Some random kids

Scrap attack

Look closely enough and you see its made of car parts, bath tubs and rafts.

Scored a photo with 'The Prophet' one of my favourite Dj's and founder of SCANTRAXX records. My other favourites are signed to SCANTRAXX. He is like what Rae morris is to you makeup girls or Beyonce to Mai or Kylie Minogue is to Trang or if Drew was to meet GSP or if the whole crew of Kingdom Hearts rocked up on Vic's doorstep or if liz was to marry that blonde kid from Digimon, matt or something!?!? or what cake is to a fat kid lol

Was 30 degrees all day super hot so was a welcomed relief when the sun dropped behind the Blue Mountains

Lasers begin

Pew Pew Pew

Euphoric

Sea of people that the digi cam could capture, wish we had a wide angle lens lol. Just imagine this for 360 degrees was a mission and a half to find my friends. The last set ended with fireworks which don't have pics of :( maybe I can chuck up the video. Had an awesome time :) want to come back next year, if they come again. That night crashed on the floor of a mates hotel room, had mad back pains needed a drew-asage bad. Next day we did touristy stuff before our afternoon flight. This was when Sydney redeemed it self. The suburbs are shit but the city is pretty nice. The whole city area around the bay was an pretty good idea. Well done mister Sydney

A bridge we found

Randoms + bridge

Randoms + funny looking thing in the background

Got a bite to eat and laughing at how messed up their city is. Melbourne CBD grid shape FTW !

Best feeling kicking of the shoes after so long on my feet

I Love Food, Did You Know?

My memory is shocking so I don't know what day it was but anyway we went out for a last minute dinner to Butchers Grill for Lynh's bday. We rocked up with no booking but it was worth the wait (: half price on the total bill yesssir. This post is for Mai and Drew who couldn't make it but also for those who were there to relive the yum.
But before food pics... here are a few random shots

Butchers Grill on the left, 'Fish' on the right

Food time:

350 gram rump of Certified Australian Angus, kills Maccas Angus burger lol

As you guys know, I love my meat and generally into savoury rather then sweet, give me a slab of meat and ill be happy. But their desserts were super yum! Very impressed... and I know that all of you have a sweet tooth too so here they are:

Apple and Pear Pie topped with Vanilla Ice cream

Rich Chocolate Ganache served with pistachio ice cream, this was fkn yummo

Crepes with Chocolate Sauce and Berry Compote

Creme Caramel

I think fashion photography would be awesome just to have a perv on super hot girls but if they let you taste after you shoot I think I might choose Food / Cuisine photography lol

Happy Bday again Lynh

First Attempt at Panning

Got my Tamron 70-300mm Zoom lens recently and went down to Winton Raceway for a drift meet with a couple mates. First one ive attended since the last time I drove at the track, but car is gone now :( We were still prepping the car till 2am so had 2 hours sleep and we left at 4am cos the track is half to NSW so far lol zzzZZzzzz. Panning shots are quite difficult cos as the car is coming down the track your constantly zooming in and out to fill the frame and at the same time you have to jump on the focus ring. But toward the end of the day got some better shots. Practice makes perfect I guess.

Seeing these pics again makes me miss my car again -___-

Change Is Good

Decided to change my watermark to something that reflected what I shoot and that flows better with the photos. I wanted something more simple and timeless and didn't draw the attention away from the main focus's in the photo. Settled on this-

By the way, shot of the moon is a RAW taken last week when the moon was nice and full. Was playing around with my new lens that came recently. For those interested: f/22, 1/500s, ISO 400 @ 300mm

Location 3 / 3 - Hosier Lane

Finally here is the last of the photos from when me and Ben went out at night to take pics. Melbourne is awesome cos it has so many hidden lane ways. I think we have the best street art / street culture :) Hosier Lane has got to be the best lane in Melbourne for graffiti and stencil arm hands down. Wall to wall covered in colour, some of the pieces have so much detail its awesome. Prepare for the most colourful-ish update since I started lol !

So many photos ! When your standing there you get overwhelmed with all the colour but when you look closely amongst all the craziness there are some awesome pieces. Here are some more that I thought you guys would like ...

Our Lady Hosier, you see her right when you turn into the laneway

Mr. Police Man

Mr. Ninja

Thought Liz n Vic would like this one, check out the cute spray cans and bunnies. Oh and the cat farting lol

This was pretty high up, no idea how they got up there

This one is for you Drew, faces made of scrap metal. His eyes are squashed bottle caps lol kind of looks like you too. The piece of scrap metal that has been framed is so random it made me laugh.

Pretty amazing considering its all spray can

Some super cool stencils

Ham anyone? haha so random

These are for Trang and Mai, the girlie girls

I don't know why but I like this pic

Just gave you guys 25 pics, now you can back off with the yells for 'updates'.
